The basics of playing castanets. Learn how to tie the cords, put them on, proper hand positions, posture, castanet language, and various rhythms and arm movements.
Where to get castanets:
I have a few pairs of student castanets available for sale and a couple of pairs that can be borrowed while in the studio. If you have time, I suggest ordering your own. I like Flamenco West. Not only are they in the US, they are very helpful in figuring out what will work best for you. Even their cheapest castanets are much better quality than what I have for sale. There are plenty of other places to order online. Please make sure that you are purchasing FLAMENCO castanets (some other types like orchestra castanets are not usable for dance) and that they are not decorative or tourist castanets; but real, playable instruments. Of course if you have any questions, please ask. Drop me a note at email@example.com.
No prior experience needed.

No refunds are available after the class session has begun. In the event that a class must be canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, make up classes will be scheduled as quickly as possible. Contact Tara firstname.lastname@example.org
